ROOFNOW™ Environmental & Waste Recycling Policy
Roofing projects create significant material waste, including shingles, metal offcuts, underlayments, fasteners, and packaging. The ROOFNOW™ Environmental & Waste Recycling Policy outlines the practices used to protect Ontario communities, reduce landfill impact, and handle roofing materials responsibly.
1. Responsible Removal of Old Roofing Materials
All existing roof coverings are removed carefully to prevent debris scattering and prevent damage to landscaping, siding, windows, and surrounding property.
2. Separation of Recyclable Metal Materials
Steel and aluminum roofing components are separated onsite for recycling. Metal waste is transported to approved recycling facilities rather than disposed of in mixed landfill loads.
3. Safe Disposal of Asphalt Shingles
Asphalt shingles and related materials are disposed of in compliance with local waste management regulations. Waste is never dumped illegally or left unsecured for extended periods.
4. Controlled Handling of Nails and Fasteners
Loose nails and fasteners are collected using magnetic sweepers and secure disposal containers to keep driveways, yards, and public areas safe from sharp debris.
5. Protection of Soil and Surrounding Landscaping
Protective ground coverings, plywood shields, and debris barriers are used to prevent contamination of soil, plants, gardens, and outdoor structures.
6. Reduction of Plastic Packaging Waste
Packaging materials, such as plastic wraps and protective coverings, are collected and disposed of separately to reduce unnecessary landfill impact.
7. Responsible Disposal of Underlayments and Membranes
Synthetic underlayments, old membranes, and vapour barriers are handled and discarded in accordance with Ontario environmental guidelines.
8. Cleanup Protocols Conducted Daily
Waste and debris are removed from the property throughout the day, with a complete cleanup at the end of each workday to maintain a clean and safe environment.
9. Final Project Cleanup & Verification
At project completion, the entire worksite is inspected for remaining debris, nails, metal fragments, or construction waste. No materials are left behind.
10. Commitment to Environmental Responsibility
ROOFNOW™ is committed to minimizing environmental impact, promoting recycling, and following waste management practices that protect homeowners, workers, and Ontario communities.
These environmental guidelines help ensure that every roofing project is completed with care, responsibility, and respect for the environment.
